Marta Valledor (Santander, 1995) studied Art and Design at the University of the Basque Country (2018). The project:

I was born on November 7th in Barcelona. I trained in art and design in Barcelona (Bau, University Center of Art and Design) and in the Netherlands (Design Academy Eindhoven). I ventured into the art of ceramics through a self-taught exploration, which I have expanded to other techniques and materials in search of new means to express and communicate myself. My creations are characterized by a balance of aesthetics and functionality, often taking soft and delicate forms. Beyond their appearance and utility, I am driven by the desire to imbue objects with a profound meaning that transcends them.My practice revives the ancestral and the magical through a meaningful dialogue with the material. In this creative process, the boundaries between the invisible and the tangible, between the body and the mind, blur, allowing me to explore and unveil the connections between the ethereal and the earthly that so fascinate me.

María Darkroom is a self-taught artist whose academic background in economics never stopped her from pursuing her passion for photography and visual art. From a young age, she was immersed in a creative environment thanks to her grandmother, an oil painter with whom she shared long summer afternoons painting and experimenting with colors and shapes. This early connection to art left a deep mark on her, inspiring her search for her own form of visual expression.María’s work is defined by a unique technique that uses light projected through an enlarger, layering color filters over photosensitive paper. This handcrafted approach recalls the analog photographic printing process—yet without the need for negatives—and focuses on the manual creation of shapes and colors that transform light into a tangible experience. Each piece is a play of shadows and glimmers, where color becomes an essential element, bringing life and vibrancy to what might otherwise be a dark and muted world.
